As many residents already know, we received a special assessment billing for the CDA tax and action on it is due by July 17th. I wanted to provide three options you can take. Don’t ignore the billing notice. We hope this is the last of these we receive. The newly appointed CDA board is addressing this matter to make sure of it.
1. Contact your loan servicer who manages your escrow and share this bill with them and ask them to pay for it from your escrow balance. Note: The CDA assessment combined with regular property taxes should already be factored into your estimated escrow withholdings and disbursements.
2. If you are unable to confirm this was paid through escrow, contact Municap at: 443-539-4101 and talk to Joshua Forster. Ask him how to request an extension with the county to avoid any late payment penalties or collections.
3. Pay the bill directly. Note: if you pay the bill directly and your escrow already factored the payment in, you will have an escrow overage the next time your escrow is reviewed annually and it can result in a credit back to you or a lower escrow withholding the following year.
Hope this helps. I contacted my loan servicer and they gladly paid it for me out of my escrow.
