American Disposal – Service Update January 10th

Notification from: American Disposal Services

Dear Valued Customers,

Due to the weather delays and current road conditions, we are experiencing higher than normal trash volume. While all services remain essential, our focus will be to service trash as a priority. If any recycling materials are not collected, rest assured we will return to service as soon as possible. All yard waste and Christmas tree services will resume next week, providing we have collected all of the trash and recycling first.
Please make sure all ice and snow is cleared from your collection point for our crews to have safe access to your material.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work through these delays.

American Disposal – Service Update

Notification from: American Disposal Services

Dear Valued Customers,

We hope this message finds you well. We are pleased to announce that we have resumed service following this week’s weather delay. However, for the safety of our team and your community, we will only service areas deemed safe for operations. Monday and Tuesday service will resume next week. Service for the remainder of the week will run on a normal schedule.

Please ensure that all trash and recycling bins are placed in accessible locations.

Christmas Tree Pickup: Christmas tree pick up has been delayed this week due to the snow. Tree pick up has been rescheduled for next week Monday, January 13th and Monday, January 20th. The trees must be completely bare.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety first.

Snow Removal Update / Shores Club

Good Evening Residents,

I wanted to provide a quick update on snow removal for the private HOA maintained streets. The crew has been working around the clock and is currently finishing the last of the private streets now. Their priority is to ensure all private streets are cleared with passable lanes. With another light snowfall tonight, TSS will continue their efforts. Once all private roads are passable, they will focus on cleanup work, including further widening the private streets and clearing clubhouse parking lots.

All other streets within the community are public state-maintained streets and VDOT is responsible for snow removal. Residents on public streets (single-family homes) should note that VDOT prioritizes snow removal as follows: Interstates (e.g., I-95, I-66, I-495) High-volume routes (e.g., Route 1, Prince William Parkway) Main neighborhood thoroughfares (e.g., Potomac Shores Parkway, Potomac River Blvd, River Heritage Blvd.) Residential streets Cul-de-sacs.

VDOTs stated goal is to make all roads passable within 48 hours of the storm’s end. Residents are encouraged to report conditions directly to VDOT by calling 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623) or using their plow status tool at www.vdotplows.org.

We aim to open the Shores Club and Fitness Barn tomorrow. A final evaluation will be conducted in the morning to assess roads and the facility’s condition. TSS cleared the parking lot and walkways earlier today, but some snow remains in these areas. Please be aware that staff availability may be impacted by travel conditions, as their safety is our priority. Updates will be posted on our website at www.potomacshoresresidents.com. We encourage everyone to exercise caution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding! We also extend our gratitude to the tireless crews working hard to plow the streets!
