Please know the Shores Club and Woods Rec Center parking lots will closed for street cleaning this Friday, May 17th starting at 9:30 PM. Any vehicles parked in the lots after that time will be towed at the owner’s expense.  

Pool Opening Reminders
The pools open on Saturday, May 25, 2024! Below are a few reminders for your information.

Access Badge Reminders
All residents ages 5 and older will need an access badge to enter the pool. Residents are able to use their access badges to both pool locations. There will not be 2024 stickers for pool passes. Staff is reviewing and updating all badges for current owners who are in good standing with the Association. Please be sure to check your HOA account as access badges will be suspended if you are not in good standing with assessments.

If you are a new homeowner or need to update your household registration form or emergency contacts, please visit the Fitness Barn front desk during operating hours: Monday-Fridays 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM or Saturdays-Sundays 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Please bring your driver’s license with your Potomac Shores address or a valid photo ID and your HUD1 from your new home purchase. Lost access passes have a $25 replacement fee payable by check or credit card only. 

Update to Fitness Barn Resolution
Please know the Board of Directors recently updated the Fitness Barn Policy with the following changes:

1. Guest Fees:  Members are permitted to bring up to one (1) guest at a fee of $5 per guest.  Members are responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the rules governing the Fitness Barn. 

Updates to Pool Policy Resolution
Please know the Board of Directors updated the Pool Policy with the following changes:

1. There will be a maximum of two (2) guests admitted at any time per eligible  household.
2. Each household will be issued five (5) guest passes to be used for the most current pool season. Additional guest passes can be purchased for $25.00 for 5 passes. 

Any pool guest passes from previous years are still valid and can continue to be used. 

We will begin accepting Cabana and Pool Barn rentals starting
Monday, May 13th at 7:00 AM at the Fitness Barn Front Desk.
Cabana Rentals
Cabanas may be reserved for a 1/2 day, with a maximum of 1 cabana per household at a time. No all-day rentals. The two available time frames are 11AM-3PM and 3PM-8PM. The cost is $20 per cabana payable by check or credit card only. Call-ahead reservations will not be accepted; rentals must be made in person with the Fitness Barn front desk staff. The signed contract and payment are due at the time of making the reservation. Cabana rentals are non-refundable. You may call the front desk at 703-640-3970 to check on availability!

Pool Barn Rentals
The Pool Barn may be reserved for pool parties. The two available time frames are 11AM-3PM and 4PM-8PM. The rental fee is $100 and security deposit is $50. The maximum capacity at the Pool Barn is a total of 25 persons and more than 10 non-resident guests must be approved in advance. The signed contract and all payments are due at the time of making the reservation. Please e-mail Hector Navas, Recreation Director at hnavas@cmc-management.com to check on availability. 

Guest Passes
We’ve mailed out a complimentary 5 free pool guest punch card pass. To purchase additional pool guest passes please visit the Fitness Barn front desk. A 5-punch guest pass card is $25. Check or credit card only. Each home is allowed a maximum of two guests, per visit at the pool.

IT’S NOT TO LATE TO REGISTER FOR THE MAY 11TH INTRO HIKE!
 
The Trails Committee is looking forward to hosting another of its popular Intro To The Trails hikes this coming Saturday, May 11th, at 9 am. If you have never been on our beautiful trails and want to have a free guided introduction to them, this is the perfect opportunity.   

There will be two options. The longer option will be a 4 mile loop covering the entire Powell’s Creek Trail and circling back along Potomac River Blvd. On this hike, you’ll learn all four of the trailheads that access our northern trails. The shorter option will be approximately 1.5 miles and will allow participants to experience the trail without committing to walk its entirety. Both hikes will start at the trailhead on Potomac River Blvd., just off of Potomac Shores Parkway, where there is a large trailhead sign. Both hikes will visit the popular Dent Family Overlook.
