Join us for a hike highlighting Native Plant Life in Potomac Shores on Saturday, August 1st, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM!
Charlie Grymes, an instructor for the Merrimac Farm Master Naturalists Chapter, will lead a Native Plant Life Hike, which will explore life along the North Pond Trail (~1.8 miles). Click here to view the trails map!
We will explore trees in particular and talk about how the plants and animals in this slice of the Eastern Deciduous Forest have changed since the first people arrived perhaps 20,000 years ago – before there was a Chesapeake Bay (or Potomac Shores was developed).
The group will meet at the Heritage Ridge trailhead on Potomac River Blvd. Please sign up on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/native-plant-life-hike-in-potomac-shores-tickets-1993639997901
