Many Potomac Shores residents may not know that our community was once the site of a Civil War battle that took place 155 years ago today on January 3, 1862. Many of us in the community are excited to be working closely with our SunCal developers alongside the Prince William County Historic Preservation Department on the preservation, maintenance and eventual access to the site so more can learn and experience this battle and its role in the Potomac Blockade Campaign early in the Civil War. It’s part of our community and that’s a pretty cool thing we all should appreciate. For those interested in helping to further promote this history and this effort, send me a message. The 2017 Committee Kick-off meeting will be held for all committee members who serve on the Communications, Trails and Social Committee on January 17th at 6:00PM at the Social Barn. Owners are also welcome and invited to attend! We will discuss plans to add two new committees in 2017. One new committee will be focused on the new Greenhouse and Gardens and the other pool operations. If you are interested please try to attend this meeting or email to dskinner@cmc-management.com.
