Shores Club / Fitness Barn Close Early – Tuesday, February 11th
Dear Residents.
The Shores Club and Fitness Barn will be closing early today, Tuesday, February 11th, at 2:30 PM due to anticipated inclement weather this afternoon and evening. We will assess conditions tomorrow morning to determine operating hours for the day. Management will be working remotely during this time.
Snow Removal Reminders:
Our area is expected to have between 4-8 inches of snow starting this afternoon through tomorrow.
Private Streets
The HOA or Master Developer is responsible for snow removal on all private streets, which includes townhome, condos, and private alleyways.
All other streets within the community are public state-maintained streets and VDOT is responsible for snow removal.
Public Streets
Residents on public streets (single-family homes) should note that VDOT prioritizes snow removal as follows:
- Interstates (e.g., I-95, I-66, I-495)
- High-volume routes (e.g., Route 1, Prince William Parkway)
- Main neighborhood thoroughfares (e.g., Potomac Shores Parkway, Potomac River Blvd, River Heritage Blvd.)
- Residential streets
- Cul-de-sacs
Please refer to FAQs here
VDOTs stated goal is to make all roads passable within 48 hours of the storm’s end. Residents are encouraged to report conditions directly to VDOT by calling 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623) or using their plow status tool at www.vdotplows.org.
Street Parking
- To assist snowplows, please move any vehicles parked on the street onto your driveway or garage during snow events.
Sidewalks
- Please note that VDOT does not clear sidewalks.
- Homeowners are asked to please clear the sidewalks adjacent to their homes, as well as their driveways.
- Homeowners are also encouraged to clear the sidewalks adjacent to their mailboxes so that mail delivery can be completed.
- The HOA will only clear sidewalks at the Shores Club and Woods Rec Center.
Potomac Shores Trails Hike – Saturday, March 15th
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!
The Trails Committee welcomes you to join us at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 15 for a hike that will cover three of our newest trails.
We will meet at the South Hawkins Trailhead at the end of Sugarberry Road. We will hike the length of that trail, then cross River Heritage Boulevard and pick up the Timber Branch Trail (TBT). This trail will take us to the Possum Nose Loop, which will eventually circle us back to the TBT. We’ll take the TBT back to River Heritage Boulevard, then road walk back to our cars. The full walk is approximately 2 1/2 miles and should take roughly two hours.
Please note that these trails are a little more challenging than the Northern Trails, with some steeper ups and downs.
To RSVP, please send an email to jordan93016@icloud.com with the following info:
1. Names of hikers
2. Ages of any children
3. Your cell number
We are happy to answer any questions you may have—same email address (above).
We look forward to hiking together on March 15!!!
Happy Trails!
